Your website should be the hub of your online business but not the only type of online marketing you should do. Using social media correctly can differentiate between a successful business and a failing one.
  1. USE ALL SOCIAL MEDIA NETWORKS THAT "FIT"
    Social media has an abundance of platforms. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are the big three. However, it would help if you considered using all the social platforms your customers will frequent. LinkedIn if you are appealing to professionals, and Pinterest for businesses with a visual interest. Snapchat is for a younger crowd, and Google Plus is for anyone looking for a local business. Decide which networks work best for your business and capitalize on their features. 
  2. CONSISTENTLY POST.
    You can take time off, but that doesn't mean your social media should, so you get a consistent following. Plan your content in advance and schedule it out a month to3 months at a time. This will give you a clear, concise message. 
  3. TIMING POSTS TO YOUR AUDIENCE.
    If your engagement is low, you are not maximizing what the social media platform has to offer. Know your audience and when they are most likely to frequent the social media site by studying the analytics of each site and scheduling your posts for peak engagement times.
